The Helapet Award for Independent Study
In line with Helapet’s continued commitment to education and the development of its staff and customers Helapet introduced, in 2006, the "Helapet Award for Independent Study" in collaboration with the University of Derby.
2008 - Awarded to Karen Morrey
In line with Helapet’s continued commitment to education and the development of its staff and customers, we are delighted to present once again, the Helapet Award for Independent Study together with the award for Best Overall Student in collaboration with the University of Derby.
The award for Best independent study 2008 was presented to Karen Morrey from Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, at a special presentation held at the Court Room at the University of Derby on the 12th January 2008, in recognition for her work 'Training programme for cleanroom cleaners'.
The award for Best Overall student was awarded to Christine Ramsey from the Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
Many congratulations to Karen and Christine who have been studying the University of Derby BTEC professional Diploma (aseptic services) whilst working in aseptic services units.
2007 - Awarded to Amanda Walter
The award for 2007 was presented to Amanda Walter at a special presentation held at the Court Room at the University of Derby on the 13th January, in recognition for her work "Optimising the cleaning procedure within the aseptic services unit".
Many congratulations to Amanda who has been studying the University of Derby BTEC professional Diploma (aseptic services) whilst working at the University of Bath aseptic services unit.
2006 - Awarded to Sandra Lane
The first recipient of ‘The Helapet Award for Independent Study’, was awarded to Sandra Lane who has been studying at the University of Derby on the BTEC Professional Diploma (Aseptic Services) Course.
Many congratulations to Sandra, who is a senior pharmacy technician based at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Competition Sponsorship
The Kathryn Miles Poster Competition, April 2007
Helapet were delighted to sponsor and present, the Kathryn Miles Poster Award in collaboration with the Association of Pharmacy Technicians.
Posters were presented at the APT conference and exhibition held at the Jury’s Inn in Birmingham and were judged for content, clarity, originality and visual impact.
Second prize was awarded to Ciara Hallows from Queen Elizabeth Psychiatric Hospital Birmingham for her poster on ‘Producing British Sign Language drug Information Resources for Deaf Service Users’. The judges were particularly impressed with the original content of this work and the impact it will have on patient care.
Many congratulations to Daniel Brough who won the competition for the overall content and visual impact of his poster entitled: ‘DVT Anticoagulant therapy at University Hospital of North Staffordshire – The benefits of introducing a pharmacy technician to the team.
Well done to everyone who submitted a poster and we hope to see more entries next year.
